This famous day is soon, you need to be ready !

Whatever your business or your activity, if you want to be involved in this Irish Celebration, you can do it thanks to social media.
It's easy !

Here are some examples:
  • Create a seasonal cover photo for this special occasion and add it on your profile, header image or background image.
  • Give recipes with typical Irish products and share them. What do you think of a green cocktail for Patrick ? Or a Guinness stew for the Leprechaun ?
  • Propose a quizz focus on Saint Patrick's Day and Ireland and share it !

In this way, your customers can also feel part of this day thanks to you !

New technologies mean new way of live

Behind each product,

there are an idea, a man or a woman, a work strategy...

and technologies !

Thanks to radio wave, there is the radio, people can listen to news via radio

Thanks to satellite, there is Internet, people can access to massive information and communicate online,
Thanks to radiotelephony, there is mobile phone, people can phone/text/surf online,

...

Because technologies evolve constantly and faster than before, new products emerge in the market.

Who can imagine few decades ago than we could buy a tablet computer, a smartphone ? Communicate via social media ? Create a blog like this one ?

When a new technologie arrives, it's the occasion for brands to create and promote a new product which will introduce a new way of live that mean a new way to communicate, to meet people or to obtain information.
For example, with Internet, people can meet eachothers on social network and speak with camera, that leads to create phone which are able to propose these several services.

One of the last information about new product is the iWatch, let's see by yourself on this video

The progress is without limit !

Be reactive in social media

Information in social media broadcasts itself very rapidly...

...you need to be reactive quickly !

If you use social media to promote your company, an event or an activity, you should be aware than this way of communication demand attention.

Because you are not alone to provide information on social media (such as Twitter or Facebook), you need to check daily or several times per week (it depends of your activity on social media) what are the actualities on your profile.
Thanks to social media, an information can be broadcasted very rapidily, so it's practical to share a good new or an important information.

BUT, the speed has its limits !

If a rumour spreads about your company and if it's a wrong rumour, you need to be reactive, to inform about the truth, to gather your audience, avoid the panic, misunderstanding and troubles.
A rumour can easily leads to the snowball effect and after it's difficult to go back.
Social media represent the company, its values, its activities. You have to protect it from rumours and ensure the image of you firm. If you don't you have to be ready for crisis communication.

Be careful, be reactive, be a good social-media-communicator !

Double communication

Hi dear followers,

Rag Week is finished at Carlow, I hope you have enjoyed it and you are ready to study again !!

Today, I want to speak about the double communication.

As you know, few years ago, the communication came from traditional media such as radio, TV, newspapers. I will call it unique communication. The exchanges between donors and receivers were very limitated, you couldn't realy react or give your opinion about a fact given.

Times have changed

Nowadays, thanks to communication online and emergence of new technologies, it appears the double communication. This area is defined by the exchange and sharing. If you want to react to a new, you can express yourself via comments, feedbacks, messages. You can also create you own blogs, videos, websites to share information. It's easier to answer to people who give you messages.

Communications and Public Relations are a great examples of double communication. Listen and find solution. Ask and answer. Give and receive. This is the key of a good communication with your target.

And you, how do you communicate ?

I find a good video about how create a community online.
"It's like be a guest in a party..." I let you watch it here

So, what do you think about it ?

In my opinion, it's very interesting to compare the business relationships to the relationships in the dailylife : how to make new friends, how be appreciate ? It's a game of seduction, of interests
You have to listen what your targets want, what are their needs, what are their goals. You should show that you can bring what they need and all the advantages to work with you. Your audience has to be confident.
You also need to create a relationship on long term.

Relationships are the key of success in communication and public relations.

Have a community is very important, you can share activities, knowledges, services or products. Thanks to community, the members will speak about you, transmit your message and reach your audience. Social media, which are the way to communicate online, provide you to create and join community
